I want to be successful enough to:
1. retire comfortably and not eat cat food in my old age
2. to help my children get as much education as they want
3. to go back to school in jewelry design courses

Raised on a ranch in West Texas most of my life, I moved to town when I was old enough to go to college. I started out as a music major with French Horn as my primary instrument and piano as secondary. Dropped music and attended nursing school for a degree as soon as I was able to do as I wanted. The medical field had a much better potential for earnings than music and I had a very average talent that was enjoyable but not employable! I work in a large cardiovascular surgery center and my work is my passion. For the past twelve years I have also been designing jewelry! I torch glass to create many of my own beads, and pendants for my designs. I work in Precious Metal Clay, Polymer Clay, crystals (vintage as well as new), pearls, gemstones, and almost any medium that calls out to me. One unique medium I work in is small glass beads called seed beads. Creating three dimensional floral components in a special way that can be used for jewelry applications. Most recently I have added soldering of Sterling Silver filigree to my repertoire of work.

I love tools! Saws, drills, files, templates, torches...you name it! I am a tool junky.

By day I help fix sick hearts. By night I am the mad scientist in my jewelry studio! I hope you enjoy the slide show. The best way to get to know me is through my work! I am a romantic in the most literal and literary senses of the word!
You can find more on me and my work by doing a Google search for Mona Hair Jewelry Designs. I pop up all over the place with portfolio sites, interviews for ezines...ect.
